Seen & Heard: Vaccine clinic at Citi Bank

CITI TO HOST TWO-DAY VACCINE CLINIC
M. happened to be looking for a local vaccine on the city’s vaccine finder and saw that Citi is hosting a clinic at 45 Hubert on Wednesdays, May 5 and May 12, from 10a to 4p. It’s called “Citi Family and Friends” but I clicked through and it seems easy enough to get an appointment. It’s being run by CVS. You can launch it from the Vaccine Finder site or just use this to go direct to the signup page.

IT’S MY PARK DAY EVENTS
Duane Park will be hosting It’s My Park Day on Saturday, May 8, from 10a to noon with live Brazilian music from Wilson Montouri (from Church Street School) on marimba and acoustic guitar. There will also be herbs or flowers to plant and take home.

And at Washington Market Park, kids can plant spring flowers with the park’s gardener also on May 8, from 11a to noon. The Friends of Washington Market Park just released a coloring book, and the illustrator will be at the park to talk to kids about her drawings. (You can order the coloring book here.)

DOWNTOWN SOCCER REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 1
Registration for the 28th season of DSL will open tomorrow, May 1. Last year the league worked pretty hard to make sure kids could play safely during covid, and found playing time for 1700 kids. Register here.

HUDSON SQUARE PARKS REOPEN
The Hudson Square BID officially opened its three parks earlier this month -— Freeman Plaza East and West and Spring Street Park — for the season. The spaces now have additional/new furniture and the BID is making room for Streetlab to create open-air drawing studios in Spring Street Park during Tuesday and Thursday afternoons starting in May. The BID has also built out parklets in the curb for several area restaurants, including Chop’t, Deb’s, Getting Hungry, Harold’s, Houseman, Local & Vine and Tauro.
