A VIEW OF THE WAGNER DEMOLITION
A. caught this shot of Wagner Park from the water side, from his perch at Pier A. This is the beginning of the end of Wagner, which is being reconstructed by the Battery Park City Authority to make it higher for resiliency plans.

COCKTAILS READY FOR PICNIC SEASON
Former Tribecan and Frankly Wines founder Christy Frank has created a new line of cocktails in a can called Hamlet Hound. There is a bourbon and cola, with a custom concoction that includes small batch bourbon, lavender, citrus oils and juices, spices and a bit of cola nut. It’s sweetened with honey, molasses and a pinch of actual sugar. And there’s a rye and ginger, with small batch rye, ginger, cinnamon, lemon and lime juice and a bit of actual sugar to round it out. “Nothing that you can’t find at a farmers market,” Christy said. Both are 15 percent ABV — “So REAL cocktails.” Available at Frankly Wines on West Broadway.

  1. Wagner demolition is tragic – all those beautiful trees destroyed.

  2. As of today – June 4 – all of the trees are gone. They ripped everything out to the street… I don’t understand why they needed to completely pull out all the trees too. I have to imagine they could have rebuilt the sea wall and keep the trees. It looks empty and will take 10+ years for anything to grow back in. It’s so sad
