City Winery

American (New)
More casual than fancy

City Winery is a dream come true for anyone who likes live rock music but hates having to wait or stand. The seating can be brutally tight—arrive early if you want to eat, because if strangers are placed at your table there may not be room for everyone’s dishes—but the setting is intimate, the sightlines are good, and the bookings tend to be well curated, if prone to be the kind of music that cool older dads like. The New American food is better than you’d expect for a music venue, although not the main draw, and the wine selection includes bottles not made on the premises. There’s also a non-music restaurant within the club called the Barrel Room.
