450 Washington St.
(bet. Watts and Desbrosses)
Bakery/Coffee, Swedish

Fika (fee-kuh) means “coffee break” in Swedish. The fifth outpost of the mini-chain is in Truffles Tribeca—enter on Washington, despite what this map shows—and it includes a café and a big production kitchen/chocolate factory, visible from the street and through an interior plate-glass window. Co-founder Lars Åkerlund and his team built the facility themselves, and he even took the photo of Stockholm that’s used as wallpaper; there’s another photo mural, of the city’s old town, Gamla Stan, in the restroom. The Tribeca Fika serves coffee and breakfast foods in the morning and lunch at mid-day; it shifts to more of a wine bar in the evenings.
