In 1976, Chrystyna Hordijenko and John Husiak quit their jobs as a social worker and teacher, respectively, to go into the fashion business. Part of the appeal was that they’d get to travel; when they founded Ibiza, the line was, in fact, from the Spanish island. Forty years later, the boutique has left the Village for Tribeca, and much of the clothing, accessories, and jewelry is by designers from all over Europe and beyond, but it’s unified by an independent, bohemian style. While Ibiza carries many different brands now, Hordijenko and Husiak are hoping to grow the original line. Closed July 2018.
