tokyo-bar-by-tribeca-citizenTokyo Bar, the restaurant serving “new Japanese comfort food” at 277 Church (Franklin/White) is closing as of Saturday. Never having been entirely sure whether B Flat, the adjacent underground bar, is affiliated with Tokyo Bar, I called B Flat to ask if it would still be open. “Yes,” was the reply. “We are separate. And Tokyo Bar is only closing for renovations.” Um, not according to the sign, posted in the window, that blames economic conditions….

Trattoria Cinque is now offering takeout and delivery. Highlights of the fall menu include a spinach salad with squash, dried cranberries, and goat cheese, as well as a hearty baked eggplant parmesan.

It’s also honoring the release of The Vampire Archives, an anthology compiled by Mysterious owner Otto Penzler.
