A New York Times article about the popularity of tall buildings said that “Photographs taken from drones and helicopters show prospective buyers [at 56 Leonard] the views they will see from their as-yet-unbuilt apartments.” So I followed up on my threat to get a few of those images, pestering the 56 Leonard sales office and its PR team until these five came in, giving us all a chance to see what the city will look like from atop Herzog and de Meuron’s glorious stack of apartments. The PR rep said these are “the views from the penthouses,” which means floors 52-60. The photos are much bigger than shown, so do click to enlarge.
The northern view:
The southern view (this image was the only one with annotated with a floor, the 59th):
Amazing views! Thank you for getting these pics.
Nice pics, but the directions are wrong. Jersey don’t have bridges around here. ;-)
