NYC Elite Gymnastics School Is Moving to Tribeca

44 WorthI heard back in December that NYC Elite—the gymnastics school currently at Sixth Ave., Watt, and Thompson—was moving to the southwest corner of Church and Worth, where the New York Law School bookstore was. NYC Elite wouldn’t confirm it, but perhaps that was because I had technically heard wrong. NYC Elite is moving to 44 Worth, in the same building but down the block to the west a bit. Here’s the email it sent out:

As today is NYC Elite’s anniversary (can you believe it has been 13 years?!) we are thrilled to announce we are moving the downtown original location to 44 Worth Street for Fall 2015. The new facility will be our largest facility [there are also ones on the UWS and UES] with a total of 18,000 square feet of space. We will be able to offer more gymnastics space for both recreational and team programs with separate training areas including more bathrooms, locker rooms, and homework areas. We are excited to bring the joy of gymnastics to our families for many more years to come. Construction will be ongoing and we will open in the new facility for the Fall Semester of 2015.

UPDATE: A PR rep for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank clarified the square footage: “25,014 SF in total: 10,987 square feet on the ground; 4,106 square feet on mezzanine level; 2,761 square feet in the lower level, 7,160 square feet in the sub-lower level.”

  1. The space used to be part of the law school. The mezz level is unusable because of short ceiling height. The lower level is really a basement (still has a bank vault / safety deposit boxes) and the lower lower level is nothing more then storage space.

The main floor is huge and will easily be a great space for the kids to tumble!
