March 23, 2016 Restaurant/Bar News
First Jean-Georges Vongerichten, now David Chang…. From the New York Post: “Chang’s Momofuku restaurant group has signed a lease to launch a new restaurant on Pier 17, a centerpiece of Howard Hughes Corp’s $1.7 billion redevelopment of the South Street Seaport. […] It was unclear which part of the three-level pier Chang’s new eatery would have or when it will open. Nor was its size revealed, although sources told The Post […] that it would be a true sit-down restaurant, not a snack stand.”
It’s exciting news for the Seaport, but one hopes Chang isn’t overextending himself. His new Nishi restaurant in Chelsea is getting mixed reviews, and he just announced he’s starting a delivery service along the lines of Maple (which he’s also involved with as some sort of consultant).
