From yesterday’s Broadsheet Daily, the email newsletter of The Battery Park City Broadsheet: “For almost eight years, 15-story Fiterman Hall has stood at 30 West Broadway as a maimed reminder of the World Trade Center attack. Falling debris from 7 World Trade Center left a giant gash in Fiterman’s southern façade. Mold and contaminated dust finished the job. The building needed to be torn down. Now, finally, that is about to happen.” The building should be demolished by late fall, with work on the new building—which will be part of the Borough of Manhattan Community College, as the past one was—starting soon after.
