• New York Times columnist Susan Dominus profiles David Kratz, the new president of the New York Academy of Art: He had been a student only a year before (and a board member of the academy in the 1990s, but few people knew that).
• The Michelin guide is out: Corton gets two stars, Bouley and Marc Forgione one (that’s Forgione at right). And according to Grub Street, Esquire’s list of the 15 don’t-miss restaurants in the U.S. includes Corton and Locanda Verde.
• On Friday, Oct. 16, Capsouto Frères celebrates its 29th anniversary with a jazz pianist, an optional three-course prix-fixe dinner, a drawing, and $29 house wines—presumably that’s for a bottle—all weekend.
• Curbed notes that the townhouse at 153 Franklin is on the market at $14.995 million, a heck of an increase over the $6.79 million it sold for in February 2008.
• 92YTribeca has added an interview with rap artist Talib Kweli (Oct. 21, $15) and an edition of “Dream Role,” when “people from every walk of life … perform their theatrical ‘dream role,’ no matter how big or small, live on stage” to piano accompaniment (Oct. 29, $10).
