10/21 News: Buzzy Opening

• That huge building going up on Canal is going to be the Sheraton Tribeca, though Curbed thinks the brown façade brings to mind another brand—UPS. Maybe it should’ve been green, given that the scheduled opening is March 17.

Downtown Alliance is hoping to open a 4,000-square-foot shared workspace, Hive at 55, on November 11. Located at 55 Broad, the workspace will have 36 bullpen desks and a few offices. Rates start at $25 per day or $500 per month; that includes copying, faxing, and assorted programming. Architecture services were donated by Mancini Duffy.

courtesy-tribeca-film-institute• On Dec. 3, Everybody’s Fine—a home-for-the-holidays movie staring Robert DeNiro and Drew Barrymore—will premiere at the Loews Lincoln Square (with a post-screening party at Tavern on the Green) as a benefit for the Tribeca Film Institute. New Field Yoga is now offering Big Mind with Carl Sheusi, a lunch-hour class whose benefits are said to include “deep relaxation, vibrant alertness, stress reduction, mental clarity, connection to the absolute truth, consciousness and bliss, feeling and being authentic in the world.”
