Apple-sour-cream-and-walnut pie from Kiva Cafe

There’s nothing wrong with outsourcing Thanksgiving dessert. Some of us just aren’t cut out to bake pies—or anything, really—and besides, wouldn’t you and your guests rather have a delicious dessert than a homemade one? Luckily, Tribeca has many wonderful bakers. Several of them require orders to be placed soon, so don’t put this off till the last minute. Outsourcing dessert is one thing; passing a box of Twinkies around the Thanksgiving table is another altogether.

And there are many other types of cakes—yellow, chocolate, banana, German chocolate, carrot, red velvet, coconut, and pineapple upside-down. Other cheesecake flavors include plain, cherry, chocolate, and blueberry. And don’t forget lemon bars, brownies, Hello Dollies, cookie sandwiches….
