SMILE! The Zaba/Jade’s Toy Box pop-up shop at N. Moore and Varick is offering what might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: You can have portraits of your child taken with 20 x 24 Studio‘s 20 x 24 Polaroid camera (it’s one of only six in the world, and Polaroid has discontinued making the film). These are sumptuous photographs; see for yourself at the pop-up shop (the one above is courtesy Angelique LeDoux). The price is $1000 for three 20 x 24 original Polaroid prints, which, while expensive, is actually half off the studio’s regular price, and you can choose black-and-white or color. The sessions run through Monday, Dec. 14. Alternatively, the pop-up shop is also hosting photographer Donna Alberico on Wednesday, Dec. 16. For $75, you’ll get one 8×10 and one 5×7. Reservations for either are essential: Email angelique@jadestoybox.com or call 917-349-5107.
