MUSIC HALL At the ARChive of Contemporary Music annual sale I bought about a dozen CDs—half for me, half as gifts—and a great old wooden crate for $5. (The guys working there kept telling me to “enjoy it,” which made me wonder if I’m missing something.) The sale is fun browsing, and it continues through Dec. 20.
LEAVE THE OLD COOT ALONE Because I was so excited about Pinchbottom‘s Filthy Lucre, a burlesque adaptation of A Christmas Carol, I feel it’s my duty to report that Scrooge’s redemption yet again proved to be impossible to make entertaining, despite the lively efforts of the performers. At least I wasn’t the one in my group who fell asleep—and it was nice to get that never-been-here-before feeling about Walkerspace.
