Art lovers—and the people who love them—should definitely check out the Art Production Fund‘s pop-up shop in Soho. It’s selling some really cool stuff, including the latest batch of artist-designed beach towels (you may recall them from when they were sold at Target). The towels—this year’s are by Peter Doig, Elizabeth Peyton, and Yoshitomo Nara—are a huge 60″ by 70″ and $95. Even if the recipient doesn’t have a house in the Hamptons, he or she could simply hang them on a wall or place them over a duvet when guests come over (as a woman working in the shop said she does). Among the other treasures: Marilyn Minter’s reusable Christmas tree decal ($100, or you can get just the star for $10) and, my personal favorite, Jim Drain’s outdoor sculptures of bathing beauties ($500), which he calls “garden gnomes.” I want Muriel! The shop is open till 8 p.m. through Dec. 24. 15 Wooster (bet. Grand and Canal); some of the art is also sold at worksonwhatever.com.
