December 15, 2009 Restaurant/Bar News
Back in late August, New York magazine’s fall preview reported that Paul di Bari, executive chef at the Flatiron’s Bar Stuzzichini*, was shooting for a November opening for a restaurant called Stuzzicheria in the old Province space (Church and Walker). Thirty “seldom-seen Italian tapas” were to be on the menu. Given that construction seems to have halted mid-demolition, we’re guessing that those tapas will remain scarce. Calls to Bar Stuzzichini and its PR firm, Wink PR, went unreturned.
* While I’m annoyed that no one will call me back, I’m still a fan of Stuzzichini. It’s surprisingly good for such a large restaurant—and now that it’s cold again I’ll be back even more often, I hope, for the orecchiette with cauliflower.
