Sad news from north of the Seaport: Firefly, the kid’s clothing and toy store that has been a neighborhood favorite for three years, will be closing the Front Street location sometime in early February. (The Park Slope boutique will remain open.) There just hasn’t been enough traffic, and the person I spoke with said that there was never a growth in business. The good news is that Firefly will sell via its website, fireflychildrensboutique.com, and open an office on Horatio Street, in the West Village, where it’ll hold occasional sample sales. (So go to the site and sign up for the email list.) Speaking of sales: Everything in the Front Street store is 40 percent off, and much of the clothing had already been discounted before that. The fixtures are being sold, too. 224 Front St., 646-416-6560.
