A Piece of Tribeca® (Pt. 2)

louis-vuitton-resizedalyn-resizetrump-resizecooper-classics-resizeexcell-resizetribeca-lady-resizeearth-resizexoxo-resizeBack in November I wrote about a bunch of brands and products named Tribeca, and how they were so different from each other that it made me wonder what Tribeca means to people. Well, those were evidently just the tip of the iceberg. From the top:

Louis Vuitton Tribeca Derby
“This business shoe in glazed calf leather features original details,” says LouisVuitton.com, “including flaps to hide the laces and Monogram flower stitching, to strike the perfect balance between elegance and modernity.” Price: $760. A website called SophicatedHandbags.com also has a used Daimler Tribeca Carre shoulder bag for sale, but I assume it’s discontinued because there was no mention of it on the Vuitton site.

Dalyn Rug Co. Tribeca Gold Contemporary Rug
“The Tribeca Collection showcases sixteen eclectic designs constructed of heat-set polypropylene,” says FeaturedRugs.com. “These rugs are woven using ten colors, yet they achieve many more combinations because its double-pile construction produces color mixing. These sixteen designs offer colors ranging from black and chocolate to paprika with beautiful neutrals like gold, moss and aloe. This collection of contemporary rugs achieves a transitional look with unparalleled range of colors and great versatility for today’s lifestyle.” Price: $319 for 5’3″ x 7’9″, or $62 for 3’5″ by 5’1″ on RugStudio.com, where many sizes are discontinued. (Dalyn‘s website has no product information for non-wholesalers.)

Trump Tribeca Lighting
EVGrieve.com pointed out that Trump has a lighting sub-collection called Tribeca, as noted first on Nova Lighting’s blog, which said, “ELK’s Trump Tribeca Lighting Collection takes its names from a billionaire business mogul and a chic downtown Manhattan community most commonly known for its celebrity denizens. It’s no wonder then that these lights possess both elegant appeal and fashionable sensibility.” Heavy on polished nickel, Trump Tribeca Lighting is part of the Trump Central Park Lighting Collection, which is at least a better fit than the Trump Westchester and Trump Mar-a-Lago Lighting Collections. Price: from $135 for a sconce to $718 for a pendant, at Nova Lighting. It seems to me that another ELK celebrity partnership, with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, might have been even more appropriate for Tribeca.

Cooper Classics Tribeca Console Table
I wrote about the Cooper Classic Tribeca mirror last time—who knew there was a matching table with a “Two-Tone Black Rubbed Finish with front drawer”? Price: $330 from EverythingFurniture.com.

Excell Tribeca Bathroom Accessories Collection
This is another one of those companies that doesn’t have a website but whose products are sold through third parties—whether that means Excell is out of business, I don’t know. Boscov’s sells the Excell Tribeca Bathroom Accessories Collection: tumbler, toothbrush holder, lotion pump, soapdish, wastebasket, and tissue box. Price: $13–$23.

Tribeca Lady French Terry Jacket
When I searched “Tribeca” on Boscov’s, I found a brand called Tribeca Lady. She’s on sale: This jacket, regularly $24, is now $5. (She sounds like more of a Chambers Street Tribeca Lady than a N. Moore Street Tribeca Lady….)

Tribeca Microfiber Lace-Up Casual by Earth
This shoe isn’t on Earth’s website, but it’s on
HSN.com, on sale for $50: “Boardroom diva, soccer-mom extraordinaire and car-pool-lane navigator. You’re a busy woman. Unite body and mind with these healthy, whole-body shoes from Earth® footwear.” I’m not a big purchaser of women’s shoes, but these seem exceedingly ugly. (FYE: A video clip of Earth being sold on HSN. The host is something else.)

XOXO Tribeca Clutch
“Snatch up our sought-after snakeskin Tribeca Clutch,” says XOXO.com. “It’ll add the perfect amount of ‘rocker-edge’ to whatever you’re wearing.” (Though we can’t recommend it with the Tribeca Lady French Terry Jacket.) Price: regularly $49, now $17.50.

  1. I know that this is about Tribeca products, but I must direct your attention to one of the newest “hotspots” in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Ireland.

The Brasserie TriBeCa (yes, capitalization and all), in the Radisson Blu Hotel:

    http://www.radissonblu.ie/hotel-letterkenny/dining/restaurant

They feature, among other things, “mash of the day and Tribeca gravy”!

  2. also the Subaru B9 Tribeca. and Williams Sonoma Home used to have a “Tribeca” furniture line, but I don’t think they carry it anymore.
