WHAT HE SAID
Christoph Niemann’s book, I Lego N.Y., is out—it’s exceedingly clever, but for my money this page alone makes it worthwhile. (I actually bought the book at Barnes & Noble last week but I had to keep it hush-hush until I gave it as a birthday present.)
STEALS AND DEALS
••• Massages at Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates remain on sale this week: $30 off if you mention the “deal” on Facebook.
COMING UP
••• Maslow 6‘s series of Wine Foundations classes starts March 16. Taught by Mollie Battenhouse, the classes introduce folks to the fundamentals, including how to go about tasting wine. You can take them all, or just the ones that interest you: The first one is How to Taste Wine Like a Sommelier, followed by classes devoted to certain grapes and regions. Classes are $60 or $300 for the series of six.
••• 92YTribeca added the following to its March schedule: “Comedy Below Canal” with Craig Baldo, Lisa DeLarios, Sheng Wang, Rob Cantrell, and Adira Amram (Mar. 11); Rose & Nangabire, a documentary-in-process about “a mother and daughter reunited after a decade separated by civil war” (Mar. 18); “Comedy Below Canal: Some Folks” with Wyatt Cenac, Jessi Klein, Baratunde Thurston, and Alan Hampton (Mar. 18); “Comedy Below Canal: Match Game Live!” with Michael Musto, Pat Kiernan, Jessica Delfino, Ben Lerman, Frank DeCaro, and Sara Schaefer (Mar. 25). If they ever do $25,000 Pyramid I better be on it. I was born to do that show.
HOW IT’S HANGING
Borbay finished his Tribeca Grand painting. Looks good!
BUNNY BUSINESS
And here’s a video from Manhattan Children’s Theatre‘s new production of The Velveteen Rabbit, to round out our interview with writer and director Chris Alonzo.
