••• The Arqua space at Church and White will become Il Matto (which we knew, although not the name nor the timeline): “Matteo Boglione, who left his job as executive chef at Gradisca in the Village, has taken over what was Arqua in Tribeca, and plans this Italian restaurant for this summer.” (New York Times)
••• “The usually sedate public comment period that opens each full board meeting of Community Board 1 became contentious last night when David Gmach, Director of New York City Public Affairs for Con Edison, commented on Community Board 1’s resolution that $150 million in ‘unallocated’ funds held by the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. be put toward funding a performing arts center at the World Trade Center site. […] Mr. Gmach said that the LMDC funds that CB1 asserted were ‘unallocated’ had been authorized by the federal government’s Department of Housing and Urban Development to repay Con Edison customers for work done in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack to restore electrical, gas and steam service in Lower Manhattan.” (Broadsheet Daily)
