••• On Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Lotus Salon on N. Moore is offering $10 haircuts for kids 1–12; proceeds will go to autism research. No appointment necessary.
••• Also on Sunday: At 2 p.m., Mary McAleese, the president of Ireland, will attend a “famine celebration” at the Irish Hunger Memorial and Mercy Corps’ Action Center to End World Hunger.
••• On the evening of Thursday, June 3, Kiva Cafe celebrates its fourth anniversary with sangria and tapas. You’re invited.
••• Additions to City Winery‘s schedule: the Fabulous Thunderbirds (June 25), Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett (July 13), and Calexico (July 19–20).
••• And on June 5, Manhattan Kickers and BW Gottschee NYC will host free soccer clinics for kids ages 4–12 at Pier 40 and in East River Park: “Coaches and players from the team will be on hand. Players must wear shin guards and will be required to sign a release to participate.” There’s also a run-a-thon to help the team raise money for a trip to Brazil.
