In the News: Daniel Craig Buys on Warren

••• Daniel Craig, a.k.a. James Bond, and “American film producer Satsuki Mitchell, who is Mr. Craig’s longtime girlfriend, have bought the one-bedroom penthouse apartment at 53 Warren St., which is expected to close next week. They relied on an all-cash offer to seal the deal on the $1.9 million-listed apartment that had received multiple bids. […] The duplex loft has 20-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and three terraces. The loft’s private elevator opens directly onto one of those terraces.” (WSJ) Update: The listing.

••• In its quest to visit every restaurant in Tribeca, the Wall Street Journal‘s Greater New York section also stopped by Tamarind Tribeca. Next week: Mike’s Papaya! (P.S. Whoever headlined the item “A Passage to India” should be docked pay for perpetuating a really lame cliché.)

••• Fashion designer Peter Som faux-shopped for beach-house décor at Room and Oly. (New York Times)

••• Bikini Bar was mentioned (with a huge photo) in Food & Wine. Actually, I just noticed that the article is from 2008. A friend from out of town brought it with her because she recognized it from a party I once threw there…. I guess she’s behind on her reading.

••• And thanks to Kerry Farrell for pointing out in the comments on this page that the Broadsheet Daily had a worthwhile article on an astute sermon—about Cordoba House, the mosque and Islamic cultural center coming to Park Place—delivered by Father Kevin Madigan, pastor at St. Peter’s.
