••• There seems to be construction activity at the old Province space at Church and Walker, where last year Bar Stuzzichini was said to be opening Stuzzicheria. I’ve made a note to myself to put in a call after the weekend. I grew a pair and called: The construction is indeed for Stuzzicheria.
••• Today’s Scoop St. deal is half off five yoga classes at Kula Yoga Project ($40 instead of the usual $85). There are three days left to buy it.
••• Did you know that there’s now a mushroom vendor—Madura Farms Mycomedicinals (talk about a rebranding opportunity) of Goshen, N.Y.—at the Wednesday Greenmarket on Greenwich Street? It had some amazing mushrooms this week. The furry one is called a lion’s mane. Beautiful.
••• Bar Artisanal—or El Bar Artisanal as I like to think of it, now that it’s gone Spanish—has a new happy hour: “$2 tapas, $10 for unlimited flatbreads, $4 drafts, and $5–$6 wines and sangrias.” It’s Sunday to Friday, 5–7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to closing. Meanwhile, starting Sunday, July 4, Dylan Prime is having a clambake on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: “two 1.25 pound lobsters, clams, mussels, corn on the cob, and potatoes” for $40.
••• The June cookie of the month at Tribeca Treats is the peanut butter thumbprint.
••• Best Made Co. is launching its pocket axe (pocket axe?): “This will be our first axe to sell for under $100. They come in 4 different colors, with a branded handle, and a leather lanyard. The initial release is limited to an edition of 200.”
••• La Lumia‘s Memorial Day sale starts tomorrow and runs through Wednesday (closed Sunday and Monday). And Otte‘s Memorial Day sale—all weekend—is 10% off all merchandise already on sale. I think this is online only, and you have to log in and enter “MEMDAY” at checkout.
