••• 92YTribeca added a bunch of events to its July lineup (which I’ll add to the calendar in a minute). Of most note: SNL alumna Rachel Dratch will participate in “Risk! Jealousy: The Green-Eyed Monster” on July 22. Right: That’s her on the left. (Photo courtesy racheldratch.com.)
••• TAMA Gallery‘s goodbye toast is going on right now, until 8 p.m.
••• Tribeca Treats‘ cookie-of-the-month is lime shortbread. I look forward to getting to know it!
••• Late in the day I discovered that there are more sales than I was able to personally check out, and I’m heading out of town, so my apologies. Babesta Cribz is having a sale, as is Koh’s Kids. On Friday and Saturday, La Lumia is running a buy-one-skirt-get-another-for-half-off promotion (with other items on sale too). And Calypso said it was on Facebook but when I called the store seemed to prefer to push me to the outlet in Soho. Also, Equinox is taking an extra 50% off all sale merchandise (through July 5).
••• Something called JR Sushi (or maybe JR Sushi2?) is coming to West Broadway between Chambers and Warren.
••• On July 14, Mysterious Bookshop is hosting a party for Peter Straub.
••• Fancy yourself a bartender (but not professionally so)? Brandy Library has announced its Bourbon Cocktail Challenge: “When you think you have created the finest cocktail out there, you may submit your recipe into the challenge, please email it to ethan@brandylibrary.com, and we will do our best to recreate it for this challenge (submissions will be taken through July 14). The top winners will be selected by a very special panel of judges, our staff. The finalists will then all be asked to come to our Bourbon Brunch on July 18th at 1pm where you will create your drink for your peers, and yes, we will help you. By the end of the day a winner will be announced, and earn their rightful place in the Brandy Library menu for the entire year. In addition there will be prizes for the top three drinks.”
