Seen & Heard: Postcard Project

••• The finalists of Babesta‘s “Postcards from the Hood” project have been announced. There’s a video here about the process, and the finalists are also on Babesta’s Facebook page. (That’s one at right, “Reflections” by Cora Shea Dardis, age 12.) Postcard packs can be bought at the store on via babesta.com.

••• Yesterday’s Groupon—which is available until midnight tonight—is $25 for a day-long bike rental from Blazing Saddles in the Seaport. (I have grave reservations about that name for a bike-related company.) Anyway, it’s normally $53.

••• Nick Lowe and His Band will play City Winery on October 20–22. And on Dec. 20, The Roches will perform a holiday show.

••• TAMA Gallery is still selling its exquisite pieces. It’s only open by appointment (212-513-0422 or 917-442-0659), or if you pass by and see the gates up, ring the buzzer.

••• Anaïs & I, the children’s fashion line by Tribecan Jane D’Haene, has announced it’ll be making boys’ clothing as of fall/winter 2011.

••• On Tuesday, July 13, Denis Tafoya (“The Wolves of Fairmount Park”) and Jonathan Mabery (“The Dragon Factory”) will be at Mysterious Bookshop.
