••• From the Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center‘s weekly update (I italicized the noteworthy part): “The Chambers Street Reconstruction project begins appx. August 9th. Crews from contractor Judlau will begin with mass excavation on the south side between West Street and West Broadway. To accommodate the extensive work, Chambers Street will be reduced to one-way westbound traffic between West and W. Broadway. That traffic change will reroute eastbound M22 buses to Warren Street. Regular traffic will be redirected to either Murray or Canal Street.”
••• Also from the LMCCC weekly update: “Two new nine-story condominiums are under construction in Tribeca. The first, 240 West Broadway, is rising quickly, its superstructure erection slated for mid-September completion. Facade work will follow through the end of the year in time for its first tenants in spring 2011. Meanwhile at 471 Washington Street, foundation work continues through mid-August, with superstructure work to be followed by facade installation through February 2011. Its opening date is slated for September 2011.”
