Seen & Heard: Origami Lesson

••• About 15 kids came to Bit’z Kids‘ free origami lesson last week, said the store’s Yuri Masuda, who sent some cute photos, too. She said she’s not sure when the next one will be, but I’ll pass it along once it’s scheduled.

••• I emailed the Mayor’s Press Office to see what was up with the work being done in City Hall Park. There are signs posted about the renovation of City Hall, but none of it identifies why the Warren Street passageway needed to be torn up to such a degree. “The work behind City Hall on the Warren Street side involves the upgrade of City Hall’s electrical system to bring it up to code,” was the response. “The work is expected to be completed in March 2011.”

••• Liberty Luxe and Liberty Green, still under construction in BPC, are behind a website, Battery Park City FYI: “A place for information, news updates and more on Battery Park City, Manhattan’s fastest growing and most popular neighborhood.” Founded in late 2009 but with only a handful of updates, it’s a fairly lackadaisical affair, worth looking at if only for WTF moments like this: “Major shopping and local boutiques can be found along the tree-lined streets and major commercial centers of Battery Park City.”
