Seen & Heard: Maserati Dealership

••• The Maserati of Manhattan dealership looked it like might be open—there are cars inside—but I didn’t go in because I was dressed schlumpily and I’d been walking around for a while in the infernal heat, so I doubted they’d be all into getting interviewed. (Instead, I took photos through the glass like a total wanker.) When I got home, I called the Maserati showroom on Park, and they told me the Tribeca location is open but they didn’t have a phone number. They gave me the number for corporate, and I called and asked for the number for the Tribeca showroom. The woman who answered the phone there said she didn’t even know about a Tribeca showroom, and that if I found the number maybe I could call her and tell her what it is? As I mulled how to respond to that, she asked me to hold. When she came back, she said, “It’s not open yet. And it’s a dealership, not a showroom.” Seems to me you might want to lose the tone if you’re trying to sell expensive cars, or perhaps the customers respond well to that. (Note to the Tribeca location dealership: It’s not personal, and I’d love to write an article about you. Call me.)

••• The old Sasha Wolf Gallery space on Leonard is now home to MS4 Production and Casting. We’ll see if the art-project-space rumor pans out. In the meantime, they might want to check out the commercial I did last year…. I could probably squeeze a new gig in….

••• This email just in from Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates: “Real Pilates is having a Labor Day Sale for New Clients. Send your newbie friends our way, and YOU get a free class.” The details are here.

  1. It is open, and I was actually quite impressed by the gentlemen that work there, they made me feel welcomed and encouraged me to look around and enjoy, even though I stated clearly that I couldn’t afford a car that expensive, I was actually also suprised by the price of the cars, I thought they were a lot more expensive.
