Seen & Heard: Corn Dog Cocktail

••• Today co-host Hoda Kotb will be reading from her new book—Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer, and Kathie Lee (don’t count the crazy lady out yet, hon)—at Barnes & Noble Tribeca on Oct. 13.

••• Today’s deal on Tippr is $15 for $30 at Brick.

••• Artist Tara Fracalossi began installing her new exhibit, “A Space of Time So Small,”  today at Pelavin Gallery. From the gallery: “A photostream documenting the artist’s progress will be uploaded segmentally to our Flickr page until its completion.” (Presumably that means before the show opens on Sept. 9.)

••• Tribeca Grill hosts its annual Harvest Beer Dinner on Sept. 30: “Executive Chef Stephen Lewandowski serves up a fantastic five-course feast paired with 8 excellent craft beers by Coney Island Craft Lagers and HE’BREW. A welcome reception will include tastes of Geektoberfest, the official beer of NY Craft Beer week, as well as a Coney Island Corn Dog Cocktail, made with Finger Lakes Corn Whiskey.” I used to  love corn dogs, and heaven knows I love a cocktail, but a corn dog cocktail? Is it possible to buy an antacid/Advil combo for later?

••• On Sunday, at the Battery Park City Block Party, BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center will offer free tango lessons (for all ages) in honor of its upcoming tango show by Ballet Concierto.

•• Finally, for your visual delectation, is a gorgeous photo by Tribecan Mathias Berenger. He took it from the 46th floor of Tribeca Tower. There’s a black-and-white version here.
