••• Some months ago a local business owner asked me to warn folks that people were trying to pass counterfeit $100 bills. Here’s an update: “Twice this week we’ve had regular non-criminal customers who have unknowingly tried to pay with counterfeit $20s. (I say ‘unknowingly’ because in both cases they paid for their items with real cash after the counterfeit was pointed out.) Also in both cases, the color of the bill was off just slightly enough to raise suspicion from my sales person, and when she looked at the watermark, Andrew Jackson was sticking out his tongue.”
