Seen & Heard: Candy & Pickle Pop-Up

••• Liddabit Sweets and McClure’s Pickles are joining together to form the Liddabit-McClure Pop-Up Shop (I named it that), at 39 White (Church and Broadway) today and tomorrow and Dec. 18–19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. What to expect: candy bars in various flavors (and with good ingredients—the idea was a reverse-engineered Snickers, said Liddabit’s Liz Gutman), caramel corn, Breakfast of Heroes (bourbon-coffee caramel corn with candied bacon), sea salt caramels, dark chocolate sea salt caramels, caramels with black truffle oil, Slurtles (aka drunken turtles), and, on the briny side of things, pickles, relish, and Bloody Mary mixer. They’re making a small party of it, with hot apple cider and muffins. More photos below….

••• Nili Lotan is having a sample sale Monday from noon to 7 p.m.

••• On Black Friday—am I the only one who hates that phrase?—a.k.a. the day after Thanksgiving, Gary Graham is having a sale: 20% off everything.

••• Tonight, Brick will be home to the annual “Sweat Party” hosted by hip-hop blog POW-TV.net (whose URL actually ends in .org…?).

••• Someone has been scribbling “REP coming soon” all over Tribeca (and possibly the city, but I rarely go AboCa). Anyone know what it is? Reminds me of a story: The other day, Adam asked if I had noticed the Leblon cachaça ads stenciled on sidewalks, and I went into a rant about how it’s wrong to deface sidewalks but even worse when it’s corporations; can’t they leave one surface alone? “It reminded me of the nice dinner we had in the Leblon neighborhood of Rio,” he said.
