Seen & Heard: Real Pilates Deal

••• Torly Kid is starting a tween book club, where “young readers will have a chance to meet the authors of our favorite girl-focused young adult novels: Lisa Graff (The Thing About Georgie, Umbrella Summer), Sarah Mlynowski (Magic in Manhattan series, Gimme a Call), Leslie Margolis (Maggie Brooklyn series, Boys are Dogs), and Lisa Greenwald (My Life in Pink & Green, Sweet Treats & Secret Crushes). Each girl who signs up for the workshop will get a copy of the author’s book to read before the session. Every week, for four weeks, a different author will host a small, intimate chat at Torly Kid.”

••• Via DoodleDeals: $92.50 for two private Pilates lessons at Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates (left).

••• Billy Bragg is playing City Winery Mar. 29–31. Also added to the schedule: Alejandro Escovedo, Jolie Holland and Joseph Arthur, and Jesse Malin.

••• From Tom Goodkind: “The TriBattery Pops—Tribeca’s first all volunteer community band in a century—needs musicians! It’s our 8th season starting later in January and another tuba, trombone or sax would really go well! We function through the good will of Church Street School for Music and Art on 74 Warren where we practice at 7 p.m. on the last two Fridays of Jan–May. We play six well attended community events and record a CD which has always been up for a Grammy Nomination and is distributed to radio stations internationally by College Music Journal. Simply email Conductor Tom Goodkind at TomGoodkin@aol.com for more information.”
