Seen & Heard: New Drugstore

••• Thanks to @FreshPalette for alerting me to the sign that went up at 345 Broadway (a.k.a. 88 Leonard)—and sending this photo, too. Looks like my intel—that it’d be “a sort of health-food store”—was wrong. Then again, that is a part of town that could use a non–Duane Reade option.

••• BuyWithMe deal: $25 for $50 at the Bubble Lounge.

••• From the Department of Yum: I’m not a huge fan of brioche, but I may be converted by Takahachi Bakery‘s “Danish Grande,” which is like brioche in a sandwich loaf. I bought two slices yesterday, and I toasted one this morning—it was like prebuttered toast. I also bought some of the black-sesame bread—it too comes in sandwich-loaf slices—but I’m not sure the way I ate it for lunch brought out the best in it. I think it really wants to be part of an egg-salad or tuna-salad sandwich….

••• Landmarc Tribeca has a new wine dinner series: “Chef Marc Murphy, along with David Lombardo, Landmarc’s Wine + Beverage Director, have both worked diligently to hand-pick wines rarely found on the East Coast and pair them with items not regularly available on Landmarc’s extensive menu.” They’re monthly starting Feb. 9; $75–$100.

••• ScoutMob deal: Up to $25 off at Papatzul in Soho.

••• I updated Progress Report: Opening Laterish to include Canadian womens’ activewear retailer Lolë, which I had forgotten about, which is no reflection on its location (below), I’m sure.
