Seen & Heard: WTC Town Hall

••• Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer and a gaggle of other politicians are holding a town hall meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.: “With the completed demolition of 130 Liberty and upcoming opening of the National September 11 Memorial, it’s time [Ya think? —Ed.] to focus on the impact of World Trade Center development on the Lower Manhattan community: How will ongoing construction affect downtown residents and businesses? What is the plan to accommodate the influx of tourists into the neighborhood? How will development impact safety and pedestrian access? How will the site be re-integrated into the surrounding community?” It’s at the Downtown Community Center, 120 Warren. RSVP at 212-669-4465 or conference@manhattanbp.org.

••• From Stuzzicheria: “Chef Mike is busy making Meat Balls!!! Come in for a free order until February 13!!”

••• “Torly Kid’s second mini workshop will be held on Saturday mornings in March.  In our Opera Workshop, Madame Violetta will bring the opera house to Torly Kid as she uses music, props, crafts, and imagination to share the magic of a trip to the opera.  This experience will introduce kids ages 5+ to different composers, characters, genres, and themes in a casual, comfortable environment. Reservations recommended.”

••• I saw on StreetEasy that the Fairchild’s #PH and #PHCombo are both in contract (they were listed at $6.950 million and $9.995 million respectively). I think they’re related, but I can’t work up the energy to call. Vacation starts tomorrow….

••• A series of monthly workshops for parents of accelerated learners starts next week at the Downtown Community Center. Each one is $10 for non-DCC members. It’s sponsored by Jade’s Toy Box.

••• Reuben Ben-Yehuda of Plus972—which is handling marketing for Prime Essentials—sent over the postcard that founder Josh Rahmani said would be going out soon. Take a look (click to enlarge), or go straight to penyc.com/contact to tell them what you wish they’d carry. I vote for anything that I’d normally have to go to Staples for.
