••• Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative is starting a new CSA program out of Birdbath Tribeca: “LFFC is a non-profit that seeks to increase the economic viability of the 75-plus Lancaster County family farms in our cooperative network. Our farmers farm an average of 5 acres, and all of our member farms are 100% Certified Organic. The vast majority of our farmers are Old Order Amish.” There are a bunch of different options: full vegetable share, half vegetable share, fruit share, flower share, “community supported medicine” shares (a.k.a. herbal remedies), as well as Four Season Harvest, which gets you dairy products, eggs, etc. All the info—including the membership application—is at lancasterfarmfresh.com.
••• Remember how BPC resident Justine Cuccia had started a Save the Staircase campaign? There’s now a Facebook page where you can show your support by clicking “like.” Even better, email your name, address, and phone (or email) to savethestairs@gmail.com, so you can be added to the petition. If you don’t know which staircase, you really haven’t been paying attention.
