In the News: Tiny’s

••• A bit of a bombshell in Sunday’s New York Post: New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist said that he’s behind the restaurant coming to 135 W. Broadway (that three-story pink building between Thomas and Duane that used to be home to Hoi An). It’ll be called Tiny’s. “It’s a restaurant that [teammate] Sean Avery and I are working on in Tribeca with some other partners. [It’s not open yet] but it will be one my favorites. I’m looking forward to going there after games. The menu is going to be high-end home cooking and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

••• Moomah gets profiled in New York Family: “We set the kids up for success,” owner Tracey Stewart is quoted as saying. “If we’re going to have them glue down images, we give them beautiful images, so that when they bring it home to Grandma and Grandpa, Grandma and Grandpa don’t have to pretend—it really is fabulous.”

••• “The Daily News wants to build a parking garage for its planned new downtown home [at 4 New York Plaza], but residents are worried about reporters speeding to cover breaking news.” (DNAinfo)

••• The anonymous blogger behind So I Met This Guy had a date assignation roll in the hay with a British guy in Tribeca. I don’t think it’s NSFW, but then again, I work from home.

••• The New Yorker reviews Il Matto: “Colorful circular banquettes, outfitted with tiny wheels and theatrically mounted on stages, may make diners feel like they’re strapped into a Mad Tea Party ride, but Boglione’s inventive menu is no roller coaster: the ups far outnumber the downs.”
