  1. Wait, you can consume liquor at New Fancy Foods deli on Broadway just south of Franklin?? Maybe a Tribeca Cit. meet up is due!!

  2. I don’t drink in fluorescent light.

  3. I also heard that they are planning to open a wine/beer bar at Whole Foods.

  4. I’d like to see them install a Kitty Kat bar at Whole Foods. A place where we could bring our cats to dine on Meow Mix and various types of fish and chicken prepared by a gourmet chef. They have one in San Franciso and its wonderful, it also has a Kat Park where cats can mingle, enjoy cat nip, and claw a post or rub themselves off against the legs of other patrons. It’s a great place to meet other woman and men with similar interests, much like a dog park, but for cats inside of a Whole Foods market!

  5. The cat bar is news to me! As for a normal bar, I asked Steven Marion, Marketing Team Leader at Whole Foods Tribeca, if the store had any plans to introduce one. Here’s what he said:

It is correct that some of our stores have bars in them. Some even have wine rooms for tastings with an assortment of wine taps. Due to the huge restrictions here in NYC around beer and wine laws we have been unable to much more that what we already have. Our Lincoln Park store in Chicago has a great bar and customers can even walk around the store with an open bottle. Team members in many of our stores are allowed to stop by the bar after work and have up to two drinks in the store. It would be fantastic if we could do that but right now there is nothing in the plans. I have heard though that our Brooklyn store opening in late 2012 might have something close to this concept but nothing is set yet.
