“We decided to put sophistication back into magic,” says Duane Park owner Marisa Ferrarin. “I love magic, and I’ve seen everyone from Ricky Jay to David Copperfield perform. I’ve always thought it would be perfect in our room.” Every Thursday night, a magician named Marco puts on an intimate show. Ferrarin learned about Marco from a friend, when she wanted to do something different for her husband’s birthday. “We try to evoke the early 19th-century magicians, when magic was more visual and silent than it is today,” she says. “The show includes music, magic, and mystery.” The 40-minute show, called Cabaret des Illusion, is free with the $33 prix fixe dinner or drinks at the bar.
