Seen & Heard: Pig N’ Whistle

••• Something is (finally) going on at the old Fitz’s Pig N’ Whistle space on Greenwich. Last we had heard—a year ago—one Nicholas McKeon wanted to turn it in to a casual restaurant and bar. No clue if that’s still on tap; the permits in the window say it’ll be a “new restaurant.” If you know, email me: tribecacitizen@gmail.com.

••• New at the Tribeca Greenmarket this Saturday: Lani’s Farm will have greenhouse vine tomatoes, strawberries, and cucumbers. And on Wednesday,  Jersey Farm Produce will have Swiss chard and green garlic.

••• I was walking down Worth today when I saw Bill Barrett (the artist responsible for the sculpture in Finn Square); his wife, Deborah; and their assistant Cait enjoying the weather out on their loading dock/ramp. We got to chatting, and I said I had noticed flowers by the sculpture. They said they didn’t know who put them there, or who makes sure to right the pot when it tips over. They’d like to know, so if it’s you, get in touch.

••• A John Hughes tribute is coming to City Winery.

••• Reade57, perhaps taking a page from 77 Reade (“Smart Lofts for Smart People”), is marketing itself with phrases like “ReadeSmart,” “ReadeHot,” “ReadeChic,” “ReadeSharp,” and “Downtown Preferred.” I’d love to get inside. If you’re repping it, call me.
