••• 471 Washington (the new-build condo at Canal), a.k.a. the slowest striptease ever. Curbed noticed, too.
••• I was walking behind two guys yesterday, and one was telling the other that Super Linda—the restaurant coming to the old Delphi space at Reade and W. Broadway, from the owner of Warren 77, Tiny’s, and Smith & Mills—will probably open in October. I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop; it just happened.
••• From Kathleen at the Tribeca Greenmarket: “On Saturday, July 2, there will be cherries, currants and raspberries at Prospect Hill Orchards, as well as cherry tomatoes and squash blossoms at Stokes. Upcoming events: You already know about the Cherry Spitting Contest on Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m., but in addition we’ll also have the Cornell Brothers Washtub Band playing bluegrass that day from 10 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, July 16, at 11:30 a.m. it’s the Chill n’ Grill: Come grill with us and chat about how our farmers raise their livestock in healthy and sustainable ways.”
••• I went and checked out “Love, Peace and Unicorns,” an exhibit of Zéh Palito’s work at FB Gallery, which I mentioned the other day—Palito is the Brazilian street artist who did the (pre-approved) mural on the northwest corner of Broadway and Franklin. Gallerist Francois Baron (hence the FB) explained that Palito usually paints on paper when he’s not creating street art, and this is the first show of his works on canvas. There’s also a huge mural (detail below, and check out the time-lapse photos on the FB website). FB Gallery is actually moving to space #209 down the hall as soon as next week, so Palito, who is still in town, will be painting a new mural there. The gallery is currently by appointment only—rather ironic, given that it focuses on street art—but I think it’s worth reaching out. In fact, I bought one of the works on paper (all the works are very reasonably priced, starting at $55).
