Seen & Heard: Compose Paused

••• From Tribeca Treats: “We’re making Brownie Ice Cream Sandwiches in two sizes, small ($2.50) and large ($4.50). It’s our own fudgy brownies sandwiched with SoCo creamery, Van Leeuwen, or Ronnybrook ice cream (depending on the flavor). Right now we have only vanilla-filled ones, but we’ll be adding other flavors each week.”

••• Skot Foreman Fine Art has left 174 Duane. “As I look for new space, I’ll be operating virtually,” says Foreman.

••• Compose is closing for “the next several weeks for a remodel,” says G.M. Eamon Rockey, in preparation for new chef Matt Lightner. Previous reports had said it’ll be reopening in September. Either way it’s also getting a new name.

••• Not too long ago I complained about the permascaffolding around 253 and 256 Broadway (between Warren and Murray)—well, it’s still there. But the restoration work on the floors above street-level at 256 Broadway (the Home Life Building) appears to be done, and holy shizazzle! What a gorgeous building! My photos don’t do it justice—it was morning, and the building is so white (for now) that the sun reflected off of it. Now if they could just undo the botched face lift that happened at 253 Broadway, that block will be a dazzler. If you can get me on any of those balconies, I’ll bring the donuts….
