Seen & Heard: Bouley Studio

••• Bouley Studio has closed for a vacation, reopening “fall 2011.” The windows are papered over, so one would naturally assume that either they’re planning a face-lift or the place is closing for good. I emailed; I’ll update this when/if I hear back. UPDATE FROM NICOLE BOULEY: “We’re changing the decor, with an addition to the concept, focused as a private space for personal & corporate events—for August the focus is an extension into catering and off premises events… (Like visiting farms from as far to Maine to as close as New Paltz, NY)… Havest to table…” I couldn’t quite tell if that meant Bouley Studio was fundamentally changing its mission, so I emailed again….

••• World Barista Champion Michael Phillips will be “pulling” at RBC NYC on Tuesday. Also, four members of the RBC staff will be heading to the west coast at the end of the month to film a coffee-quest documentary; it was funded on Kickstarter.

••• There’ll be a food-truck party, Parked, at the South Street Seaport on Aug. 20. VIP passes are on sale here.

••• I forgot to mention that this is what the Kutsher’s Tribeca logo will look like.

••• Tribeca Greenmarket report: “Salento Farm has returned to the Tribeca Wednesday Greenmarket. Garlic is their passion: roasted garlic spread, garlic scape hummus, and pickled eggplant.” I just stopped by and bought some pickled eggplant and some roasted garlic banchetto (a spread). If you like garlic, get over there. New produce today: donut peaches, carrots, yellow tomatoes. New produce on Saturday: cantaloupes, Nofa apples.
