Seen & Heard: Guess What?

••• Yuki Nail Spa is coming to 179 Church (between Duane and Reade). Our streets are a mess, but our nail care is flawless.

••• Megu‘s Facebook page said that the Tribeca location will open something called M Lounge (within the restaurant) on November 24. I emailed the folks there but I don’t expect have yet to hear back.

••• Tweeted by @NYCdowntowndiva: “Just got info on Earl’s Court (John/gold)—s’wiches/sushi/ice cream—mishmash but maybe inc. bar & events. Giant trees. Open in abt month.” Sounds like Milk Street Café?

••• About that new bike-share program that was in the news: There’ll be a demo on how it wiorks this Wednesday in Bowling Green. “You can stop by any demonstration to test ride a bike, check out the bike share equipment, ask questions and give feedback about the program. You can learn more about the program—and other demonstrations—at http://a841-tfpweb.nyc.gov/bikeshare/.”

••• And this came via Councilmember Margaret Chin’s office: “Citizens Committee is now accepting applications for our Love Your Block grant program. Love Your Block is a special partnership between Citizens Committee and the City of New York that provides a unique opportunity for city residents to transform and beautify their neighborhoods. Love Your Block offers resident-led volunteer groups a cash grant of $500-$1,000 to transform a city block. Citizens Committee also provides each group with project-planning and community-building assistance, as well as assistance with local media coverage for the project. The City of New York matches the grant by providing services from the Departments of Parks and Recreation, Transportation, and Sanitation to help improve the block. Examples of these city services include trash collection, vacant lot cleanup, graffiti removal, dead tree removal, tree planting, providing woodchip mulch for gardening projects, repair of and installation of street signs and street lights, and traffic safety surveys.”
