November 1, 2011 Photo Essay

Despite the jigsaw-puzzle-ness, there’s something irresistible about scenery reflected in water—or at least that’s what I told myself as I stood over a series of filthy puddles.

UPDATE 11/3: A reader just sent me an Architzer blog post about Architectural Puddles, a Tumblr of photos rather like these by Madeleine Digangi. I hadn’t seen them when I started taking my photos (hers are far better).

    These are wonderful photos. They remind me of the paintings of Judith Miller, a long-time Tribeca resident. Many of her paintings show scenes reflected in water, including puddles in Tribeca and Times Square. http://www.judithsmiller.com/
