New Store on Greenwich Street

When I noticed that the “space for lease” sign in the window at the old Gallery Viet Nam space at 345 Greenwich had been taken down, I went on the hunt. The folks at Viet Café weren’t talking, but broker Sonia Stock of Prudential Douglas Elliman agreed to ask the new tenant if they’d be willing to announce their plans. Score! HomBoms toy store will be opening there within 30 days. It’ll be the company’s fourth location, after two on the Upper East Side and one on the Upper West Side. The space is around 1,000 square feet, and they wanted to be on Greenwich, in good part because they didn’t want to compete with Boomerang Toys over on W. Broadway.
