Seen & Heard: The Butterfly

••• Michael White’s upcoming restaurant, The Butterfly, came before the main CB1 board last night, and not surprisingly, the board was concerned that the Butterfly had been presented to the Tribeca subcommittee as a restaurant, only to have the PR rep subsequently say it would actually be more of a bar. According to my source, when told they would have to re-present the actual concept, the Butterfly team “disavowed the spokesperson’s comments and said they stand by their submission to CB1’s Tribeca committee,” which as you might recall, included a Wisconsin-themed menu. Related: I really need to take a nicer photo of 225 W. Broadway.

••• Long Tall Sally is opening a pop-up shop at 172 Duane from April 17–22: “LTS clothing is designed in house, carefully proportioned to flatter tall women 5’8″and above, in sizes US/CA 4-20 & shoes 10-13.”

••• Free Champagne for adults and sparking cider for kids on Friday at Moomah, which is celebrating its last day a day early.

••• See that Babesta ad in the right-hand column? Or the Woodrow’s one on the left? Or the one for The Elevens in the Restaurant Guide? All advertising is appreciated at Tribeca Citizen, but especially display advertising, because it’s more of an investment on the businesses’ part (than a newsletter ad). So go frequent those companies! When you support advertisers, you’re helping keep this site alive!
