••• Albert C. Lee tweeted that “American Gold Inc. coming into old Eve Pharmacy spot. Buy and sell gold in Tribeca. How convenient.” He says there’s a sign in the window (I’m actually out of town, so keep those tips coming.) Not sure if that’s this company. Update: Albert sent a few photos, two of which I added. But then look at the comments, where Melissa reports: “The door was open last night so I went in to ask them what was going on as they were emptying out the space. They said that TD Bank is taking over all three spaces at the corner of Chambers and Greenwich Streets. I asked about American Gold and didn’t really get an answer so maybe it’s just up until the bank moves in….” Maybe American Gold and TD Bank are in a partnership…?
••• Suzanne F. reports that the New York by Gehry plaza is finally open.
••• An exclusive offer from the Harrison: “Print and bring this page to The Harrison on Sunday or Monday night and you’ll receive a complimentary drink (valued at $12 or less) with the purchase of the restaurant’s delectable cheeseburger. It comes on an English muffin with special sauce, crunchy onion, and a pile of homemade potato chips. Valid through June 30.”
••• Tribeca Greenmarket update: “Toigo Orchards is back! Fuji and mitsu apples, greenhouse tomatoes, strawberries, raw honey, salsas and their (in)famous bloody Mary mix. You’ll have to wait for those peaches though, folks—not for another six weeks!”
••• From New Amsterdam Market: “On Sunday, June 3, we will inaugurate the first annual Great Northeastern Bean Exchange, featuring wholesale pre-orders of bulk dry beans from Northeastern growers; legume-inspired market fare; special guests; and bean activities for kids. The event is open to all, and a variety of beans and legume-inspired market fare will be available!”

I was also wondering about the American Gold sign in the window at the Eve Pharmacy. The door was open last night so I went in to ask them what was going on as they were emptying out the space. They said that TD Bank is taking over all three spaces at the corner of Chambers and Greenwich Streets. I asked about American Gold and didn’t really get an answer so maybe it’s just up until the bank moves in…
Sigh, do we really need another TD Bank? Or is there a Chipotle to TD Bank ratio that needs to be maintained?
