October 22, 2012 Real Estate, Restaurant/Bar News, Shopping
••• From Boomerang Toys: “Boomerang Toys is back in Battery Park City. We are opening a new store, this time in the Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) building—between the food trucks and the ferry terminal (south of Rockefeller Playground).”
••• Could Aamanns / Copenhagen finally be opening?! The restaurant just posted this on Facebook: “Big news coming soon…” (along with this photo, so maybe the news is just that the pickling is nearly done.)
••• The TV show “Golden Boy” is shooting in the Church/Duane area on Tuesday. And another TV show, “Elementary,” is shooting in the Franklin/Broadway vicinity on Wednesday. Can’t we get some movies instead?
••• The other night, on the way to Greenwich Grill, the retail space at Tribeca Summit (415 Greenwich) set my antennae a-twitching. The lights were on inside, so I peered through a hole in the papered window. It looks raw but in a ready-for-something way. I asked the doorman today, but he knew nothing.
••• Also, is something coming to the old Steven Alan offices at 158 Franklin? Paper usually equals a new tenant.
••• From the Loopy Doopy bar atop the Conrad New York: ” We are officially closed for the Season. Thanks to everyone for an amazing Summer filled with boozy icepops & good times. See you all in May!”
••• Benares (new Indian restaurant on Murray) had its doors open today, and I peeked in. It looks rather nice and really close to ready.
••• Ye olde façade at Cricketer’s Arms, which I mention last week but didn’t show.
