Seen & Heard: Free “Christmas Carol”

••• Press release: “BMCC and BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, in partnership with Theatreworks USA, proudly present the holiday classic A Christmas Carol on Saturday, December 22 at 3 p.m. […] Although admission is FREE, seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis. Our box office will open 12PM on Saturday, December 22 (the day of the show) for ticket distribution.”

••• At the risk of making this go on and on, CB1’s Jeff Galloway also commented on the post about the Asphalt Green discussion at the recent meeting of CB1’s Battery Park City Committee. I’m increasingly wishing I had made the title of that post a question.

••• Remember Peter Koval’s sketches of Tribeca? (Here and here.) He’ll be in the area this week, and he’s accepting commissions, if you have a certain building—such as the one you live in—that you’d like immortalized. He’s also up for suggestions of interesting buildings. You can reach him through this site.

••• Date lovers should hurry on over to today’s New Amsterdam Market: “We’re excited to welcome Palmero Dates & Nuts from San Francisco with walnuts and a variety of dates–including Medjool, Deglet Noor, Barhi, Khadrawy, Rutab, Khalal, Tamar, Sphinx, Thoory, and Zahidi–from select organic farms in California.” (Sorry for the late notice.)

••• A bunch of street event permits were added to the agenda for Wednesday’s CB1 Tribeca meeting, including one for the Bastille Day celebration outside Cercle Rouge, on Thursday, July 11.
